Origin:
Bred by Soupert & Notting (Luxembourg, 1875).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Eugène Fürst'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson, dark purple shading.  Strong fragrance.  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, nodding or "weak neck" bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Tall, bushy, spreading.  

Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).  Width: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew, susceptible to rust .  Prune after flowering is finished.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Eugène Fürst is the name of the editor from the german "Frauendorfer Blätter" and Board member of the Praktische Gartenbau-Gesellschaft in Bayern.
