Origin:

Bred by Pierre Bernède (France, 1852). Bred by Lartay, fils (France, 1861).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1873 as 'Belle de Bordeaux'.

Bloom:

White, silver(y) shading, pink reverse. 6 to 8 sepals possible. Strong fragrance. Large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Climbing.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Very vigorous.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Parentage:

seedling of Gloire de Dijon (Tea Noisette, Jacotot, 1849)

Notes:

'Enfant Trouvé' is also mentioned as a synonym by Léon Chénault, but this is probably an error.
