N. P. Harvey. On pink Roses. Among the pinks which are not self-coloured but have other tones or shades in their make-up, ‘Mme. Cochet-Cochet’ has always fared well with me. The buds are long, developing into a large semi-double coppery pink bloom. Growth is strong, and the plant is very floriferous. It is beautiful when cut, and if only it had a few more petals would be almost perfect. This variety seems to have succeeded better in America than here.

p71-6 N. P. Harvey. Pink Roses, New and Old. A pleasing substitute is the presence of various tones of salmon and peach as well as gold, that are characteristic of pink hybrid teas like ‘Shot Silk’, ‘Mme. Cochet-Cochet’, ‘Dickson’s Perfection’, ‘Lady Nutting’ and others.

p74-3 ibid. ‘Mme. Cochet-Cochet’, though thin, is a superb colour and is well depicted in the American book “Roses of the World in Colour”, published in England by Messrs. Cassell. Coppery pink flushed orange is perhaps a fairly adequate description, though with this type of pink Rose, it is hard to define the exact amount of orange and allied hues present with the actual pink colour. A good grower and quite free, with no tendency to sprawl. ‘Gloaming’ from the late Dr. Nicolas, the famous U.S.A. hybridist and is rather similar, but in this garden is not so strong in habit, nor yet so floriferous.

S P. Harvey. Roses of Peace. ‘Gloaming’ and ‘Mme. Cochet-Cochet’ are two beautiful coppery pink sorts of good growth, though a trifle thin, but the latter at times is almost a perfect shade of pink.

p94-4 ibid. Taking colour first, the 1900-1919 section shows a very high average standard, with Lyon as the thin end of the Pernetiana wedge. In the 1920-1939 section this Pernetiana break is beginning to develop in ‘Ambassador’, ‘Comtesse Vandal’, Madame Cochet’ and ‘S & M. Perrier’….

p122-9. Mr. S. J. Bisdee. Tasmanian Rose Notes. ‘Mad. Cochet Cochet’ – Although this came out several years ago, I tried it this year for the first time and am in love with it. A semi-double so far, and catalogue description of colour quite correct. Good growth and very lovely.

Bush Roses
Madame Cochet-Cochet (Hybrid Tea)... Coppery pink, flushed orange. Long pointed bud opening to large flower of splendid form. As the bloom opens the colour changes to satiny pink. Tall, erect growth and flowers with exceptional freedom. We have found this to be a highly satisfactory new variety. Recommended. Fairly highly perfumed. Introduced 1935.
