I have two of these. They're gorgeous, but allow enough room! Mine are every inch of 20 feet (or more) where I allow them to grow along a fence. Thick, rampant grower in Zone 8b.

Big creamy yellow blooms with good fragrance, scattered through the foliage. Might have more blooms if I didn't keep half of it thinned and cut back to about 8 feet.

Attractive when not in bloom. Leaves are dark, glossy green. New leaves and canes reddish.

Keeping it trimmed back requires pruners, not scissors. New canes, which seem to grow several feet a week, can be bigger around than my thumb.

Gets blackspot. This is a thorny rose, so be careful where you plant it. Canes will root where they touch the ground.

In my opinion a nice rose for making a privacy screen on a strong fence, or let it climb a tree. Plant it where it can cover something - a dairy barn or a convention hall, lol.
