Dr A. S. Thomas. Alister Clark. ....This has led to a lessening of the need for roses to be as tough and hardy as was Mr. Clark’s objective. Consequently their numbers, especially of cultivars, has decreased but Cicely O’Rorke and.... are still grown but largely for sentimental reason or as simply “old roses". Our Heritage Society friends are trying to find as many as possible and so save them from oblivion.

p66 Mr. S. J. Bisdee. Melbourne’s Roses Through Tasmanian Eyes. On Mr. Alister Clark’s tables at the show I was attracted by a charming semi-double decorative – his Cecily O’Rorke – which he sent out in 1937. It is a very lovely thing, and I hope it will find its way into many gardens.

Some of the Newer Australian Roses [...] Cicely O'Rork will also have many followers. A pillar rose, the pink colouring of the blooms has the base of yellow which fills so many of Mr. Clark's pink varieties with light, and gives them their decorative value.
