Flora Mitten (1850 - June 1941), third daughter of William Mitten (November 30, 1819 Hurstpierpoint, Sussex - July 20, 1906), English pharmaceutical chemist and bryologist ("Mitt."). His lichen herbarium is now at the New York Botanical Garden. Flora Mitten was one of the first women registered in England as a pharmaceutical chemist and she first helped then ran the shop until at least 1911.
