White, near white or white blend Hybrid Perpetual. Registration name: Gloire Lyonnaise
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual, Hybrid Tea.
Bloom:
Cream, light yellow shading, darker center. Moderate, tea fragrance. Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright. Large foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.
Height: 3' to 6' (90 to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer. Blooms tend to ball in wet weather. Prune lightly or not at all.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Many characteristics seem to indicate a parentage 'Captain Christy' x 'Mme Falcot' - see References. Parentage based on Pierre Guillot's statements in 1905. Sister seedling of 'Mme Joseph Desbois'.
