Origin:
Bred by Mathias Tantau (1882 - 1953) (Germany, 1931).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1933 as 'Hermann Löns'.

Hybrid Perpetual, Hybrid Tea, Tea, Cl..  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Moderate, wild rose fragrance.  Large, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters, cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  

Height: up to 6'7" (up to 200cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for garden or pillar.  Hardy.  vigorous.  produces decorative hips.  Prune lightly or not at all.
