Class:
Hybrid Spinosissima, Shrub.
Bloom:
Light yellow, orange-red stamens. Mild, tea fragrance. 5 petals. Average diameter 4.5". Large, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat bloom form. Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom. Large buds.
Habit:
Medium, armed with thorns / prickles, rounded, well-branched. Light green foliage.
Height: 42" to 6'7" (105 to 200cm). Width: 4' to 6' (120 to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer. Heat tolerant. shade tolerant. Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy. Prune dead wood. Prune lightly or not at all. Remove unproductive wood every third year or so.
