Origin:
Bred by Louis-Toussaint Charpentier (France, before 1813). Bred by Jacques-Louis Descemet (France, before 1813).
Class:
Agatha/Agathe, Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Pink or purple, violet shading.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Parentage:
If you know the parentage of this rose, or other details, please contact us.
Notes:
There were at least two Gallicas named 'Merveilleuse', one of which was an 'Agatha-type' rose with pink flowers, the other with purplish flowers. We have breeder attributions to both Descemet and Charpentier for 'La Merveilleuse', but it isn't clear from the References which rose belongs to which breeder.
