Origin:
Bred by Tom Carruth (United States, 2003). Introduced in United States by Edmunds' Roses in 2004 as 'Jacob's Ladder'. Introduced in United Kingdom by C & K Jones in 2007 as 'The Schofield Rose'.
Class:
Climber, Large-Flowered Climber.
Bloom:
Red. Moderate fragrance. 4 to 11 petals. Semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.
Habit:
Tall, bushy, climbing, upright. Large, glossy, dark green foliage.
Height: 6' to 9' (185 to 275cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for garden, landscape or pillar. Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood.. Prune lightly until this rose gets established (about two years), then prune it back by about a third.. Remove unproductive wood every third year or so.
Breeder's notes:
Free standing pillar habit, extremely large foliage held to the ground.
