Notes:
Reportedly raised from open pollinated seed of Thé bengale ordinaire [could this be Hume's Blush Tea-Scented China/Bengale thé] that was planted close to Rosa bracteata and thus not truly a species cross. For different speculations on parentage - see References.

Per the REFERENCES, this rose can grow much taller than the minimum reported of five feet. Dedicated to the daughter of nurseryman André Leroy. Maria Leonida married a M. Appert.
