'Honoré de Balzac ®' rose Reviews & Comments

Shouldn't the colour be described as white and pink, sometimes with green? Instead of "Yellow and pink"? See almost all of the pictures! I haven't seen one yellow Honoré de Balzac, until now, myself! Meilland writes about this rose on their site http://www.meilland.com/en/meilland_rose-trees_romantica.html : Meilland 1994 hybrid tea - white edged with light carmine pink - fragrant (peach fragrance) height : 90/110 cm - bloom size : 13/14 cm Silver medal Saverne 1992

The patent describes it as light cream-yellow, suffused and edged with carmine.

Jedmar, is the breeder giving wrong information on his own site?

No, not wrong information, but maybe a simplification. I do not have a colour chart, so I cannot say what Yellow Group D (patent) is. Maybe it is cream, different from pure white.

Jedmar, Thank You for Your information. I would say white-blend, but I don't assign patents!

As for Meilland this rose ought to be called: "Honoré de Balzac", instead of "Honore De Balzac" see => http://www.meilland.com/fr/meilland_rosiers-jardin_romantica.html
