[From "Une Visite chez Les Rosiéristes Américains" by Francis Meilland, pp. 33-47]
Dans les polyanthas, on semble définitivement adopter les grandes fleurs, la belle race de POULSEN, comme chez nous d'ailleurs. Anne Poulsen attire les regards par son coloris puissant.

Polyanthas. In this class there are some fine acquisitions. Anne Poulsen (Poulsen) is a large, clear red, semi-double bloom, somewhat after the style of 'Kirsten Poulsen'.

One more, before discussing British Roses, is Anne Mette Poulsen, which, to me, is the nicest of all the Poulsen Polyanthas. The bushy plants, of medium height, produce fragrant flowers of brilliant scarlet crimson in ample sprays. Let us have more colours of like quality.
