'Irish Fire Flame' rose Description

EXCELLENT.
Bloom:
Orange, scarlet shading, crimson veining, ages to yellow. Strong, fruity fragrance. 5 petals. Average diameter 5". Large, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form. Moderate, blooms in flushes throughout the season. Medium buds.
Habit:
Medium, bushy, compact, dense. Medium, glossy, dark green foliage.
Height: up to 3' (up to 90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be used for beds and borders or landscape. Hardy. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant, mildew resistant, rust resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) . Feed this rose well. Prune lightly or not at all.

Kim Rupert spent many years looking for the real 'Irish Fireflame' and is sure that what was reintroduced by Sequoia Nursery (and is sold by others since the closing of Sequoia) is the real one.
