Bred by Comte de Mondeville (France, 1846).
Introduced in Australia by Camden Park in 1850 as 'Comte de Montalivet'.

Bloom:
Violet, red shading.  Large, very double, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Marthe Camille Bachasson, Comte de Montalivet (April 24, 1801 Valence - January 4, 1880 Saint-Bouize, Cher), French statesman, Intendant général de la Liste civile, was from 1845 member of the Cercle Général d'Horticulture, the organisation which became the Société Royale d'Horticulture. Honorary member of the Société d'Horticulture de la Seine in 1853
