Introduced in United Kingdom by Hilda Murrell / Edwin Murrell Ltd. in 1954 as 'Rosa filipes 'Kiftsgate''.

Height: 25' to 40' (760 to 1220cm).  Width: up to 88'7" (up to 2700cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Very vigorous.  produces decorative hips.

Be sure to read the history and description of Rosa filipes 'Kiftsgate' at the website of the Kiftsgate Court Garden in Gloucestershire, UK, where this remarkable species reaches 24 meters x 27 meters x 15 meters high on a copper beech. Sold to the owners as Rosa moschata in 1938, Kiftsgate grew to enormous proportions before Graham Stuart Thomas correctly identified it in 1951.
