Bred by Unknown Chinese Breeder(s) (China).

Class:

Hybrid Rugosa, Species Cross.

Bloom:

Mauve. Average diameter 3.25". Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Height: up to 5'11" (up to 180cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Parentage:

hybrid of R. rugosa

Notes:

Dr. Yuki Mikanagi reports that this rose is a very old Chinese cultivar and that there are no other details known. Murata Rose Nursery classes 'Maikai' as a hybrid rugosa.
