Bloom:
Yellow. Strong, pepper, spice fragrance. 26 to 40 petals. Average diameter 4.25". Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Height: 28" to 4' (70 to 120cm). Width: 2' to 3' (60 to 90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

United States - Patent No: PP 9,042 on 17 Jan 1995 VIEW USPTO PATENTApplication No: 08/215528 on 22 Mar 1994 The female parent (i.e., the seed parent) of the new variety was the Meinuzeten variety (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 4,224). The male parent (i.e., the pollen parent) was formed by the cross of the Sunbright variety (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 4,438) and the Anne-Lise Rothenberger variety (nonpatented in the United States).
Notes:
At the age of 17, Venetian explorer Marco Polo was one of the first Europeans to visit China in 1271. His writings -- most notably Il milione, or as it is known in English, The Travels of Marco Polo -- inspired other people to travel there. Polo was born in Venice, Italy, in 1254. He died there 8 January 1324.
