We have sold this rose and had it planted in a few no spray parks in the Vancouver Canada area. It's been highly resistant to black spot here. The plant grows vigorous with loads of flowers but the flowers do blow quickly and also flop over with our heavy rains so it can need staking with in full flower. I think it would be a great rose if you live in an area with limited rainfall when in flower. Compared to others in this class it has wonderful resistance to black spot and mildew. It seems well above average for winter hardiness as well. To my nose it has a pleasing fruity fragrance. Apricot Candy is a very pretty garden rose.

Just visited Longwood Gardens in Kennet Square, PA. I was told that the roses were past their peak, but when I went to the garden one bed stood out from several hundred feet away. Fifty or so plants of 'Apricot Candy' were in full bloom with no apparent black spot and no Japanese beetles. Perhaps the beetle season was on the decline, but black spot was clearly evident here and there throughout the rest of the garden. Apricot Candy deserves a look from rosarians looking for black spot resistant/highly tolerant HT's.

This rose is a real winner in my garden. Planted it own root last year from Northland Rosarium. Wasn't sure how it would get by in a zone 5 Vermont winter. I am delighted to report that it came through with flying colors. Hardly any die-back--and this on a year old roseling--and broke dormancy immediately. Huge blooms that are a blend of apricot, orange, yellow and pink. So beautiful, I don't care that it doesn't have any scent!

I saw Apricot Candy at the rose park in zone 5a, nice shape, very healthy foliage, and loaded with blooms (the most compared to other HT's). It had a nice scent. The bush is more compact, and MUCH better looking than other Hybrid Teas. In the rose forum entitled "black-spot" resistant apricot roses, someone reported Apricot Candy as black-spot free.
