Discovered by Norman M. Ross (Canada, before 1941).
Introduced in Canada by Percy H. Wright in before 1941 as '"Indian Head"'.

Pink. Decorative buds.

Growing:

USDA zone 2b and warmer. Very hardy.

Notes:

double, deep pink - found on a farm in the Indian Head, SK district. Percy Wright speculated that it is an Old Garden Rose brought from Ontario or Maritimes by settlers to the Indian Head area (see Dakota Horticulture 1950's) [Brian Porter] R. Erskine reports it as only semi-hardy & not fertile [Pittao] Percy Wright wrote in Dakota Horticulture (1950's) that it was a re-named Cabbage rose (i.e. a R. gallica or R. centifolia derivative) [Brian Porter], Robert Erskine felt it was a re-named European variety, probably a gallica (pers. Correspond. 6/6/66) [Pittao]
