Origin:
Bred by Dr. Friedrich Wilhelm Ruschpler (Germany, 1839).
Class:
Gallica / Provins, Hybrid China.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink, darker center.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 3.5".  Large, double (17-25 petals), rounded bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Parentage:

Notes:
There seems to be some confusion about Ruschpler's König/Königin von Sachsen. Possibly the hybrid china/gallica cultivars are the same. Possibly also 'Reine de Saxe'?
