Bred by François Cels (France, 1828).
Class:
Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red, purple shading.  Strong, tea fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns.  Reddish-purple foliage.  3 to 5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
