This is certainly a lovely thing. What are the prospects of an attribution and what names are under consideration?

This one is still a Jane Doe, Cass. Is it like anything you know?

Not anything I know, Billy. The coloring is familiar but not in that bloom form.

Coleen Huston at Bishop's Lodge has confirmed the rose I have as Ah Mow. She states, At times it can have a button eye but not always. Ah Mow does have thorns, but generally not a lot. Perhaps the discription can be changed to reflect this?

Cree, do you think that "thornless (or almost)" is different from your description? I've added the bloom description as you requested.

Hi Cass, I really don't know. When I read thornless or almost, I thought my rose was not the right plant because it certainly had thorns. Can you look at the thorns in this photo http://www.helpmefind.com/plant/pics.php?l=2.46353&nr=109657 and then you decide?

I see plenty of prickles. Sometimes roses will have prickles on the larger canes and have smooth laterals. This doesn't seem to be like that, either.

How about just removing the Thornless for now and then next year after it has put on some size, I'll post pics and then evaluate it again at that time?

I removed "Thornless" and added "Armed with thorns."

I spoke with Val at Bishops Lodge. She sates that Ah Mow does have thorns. She also says the button eye is typical for the rose. I have sent photos and the HMF links to her and she will review thes with the other ladies at Bishops Lodge and get back to me with any additional information that might be helpful. Cree

Posting continued from "Bishop's Lodge Riverina Sunset" window: Did you see the pic of my first bloom on BL Ah Mow, what a beauty! - Cree.
I have now. "Bishop's Lodge Ah Mow" is indeed a beauty. And so similar to the many roses around Australia under different study names, one of which is "Pippie's Pottery Pink". Have a look at those pictures. It may be the same. "Pippie's" sets no hips. Keep an eye on "Ah Mow' and don't deadhead a certain branch to double check. I did get cuttings of "Ah Mow" in 2004 and while it lived for a bit, it hated the climate and gave up the ghost. - Patricia
