Origin:
Bred by Brother Stefan Franczak (Poland, before 1981).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Fisk's Clematis Nursery in 1982 as 'Jan Pawel II'.
Class:
Early Large Flowered.  
Bloom:
White, pink center.  6 petals.  Average diameter 5.5".  Single bloom form.  Mid-to-late summer.  
Habit:

Height: 8' to 10' (245 to 305cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Suitable for growing in a container.  Tolerates partial shade.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.  In early spring, cut back to just above the lowest set of healthy buds.
