Notes:
Rosa brownii Rydberg is included within Rosa nutkana subsp. macdougalii. H. E. Brown's herbarium specimen of Rosa brownii in Missouri Botanical Garden bears the notations, "Rosa nutkana." Rosa brownii was collected by H. E. Brown north of Mt. Shasta, California in 1897. See References.
