Bred by Unknown Chinese Breeder(s) (China, before 1789).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Sir Joseph Banks in 1789 as 'Banksi'.
Class:
Hybrid suffruticosa, Tree peony.  
Bloom:
Rose-pink, lilac shading, purple flares.  Mild, rose fragrance.  Average diameter 9".  Very large, semi-double to double bloom form.  
Habit:

Height: up to 8' (up to 245cm).  Width: up to 10' (up to 305cm).
