Bred by George Hollis (United States, before 1905).
Introduced in United States by Peony Gardens of George Hollis in 1905 as 'Continental'.
Class:
Hybrid lactiflora.  
Bloom:
Lilac - pink, fuchsia / magenta shading, scarlet flecks.  Mild, medicinal fragrance.  Large, semi-double to double bloom form.  Midseason.  
Habit:
Compact, upright.
