'Elizabeth' peony Description

Bloom:
Deep pink to rose-red. Average diameter 10.5". Very large, full, bomb bloom form. Early-to-mid.
Habit:
Height: up to 28" (up to 70cm).

Notes:
Possibly, not all of the tree peonies with 'Elisabeth' in the name were the same. Many of the old illustrations [see PHOTOS] do not resemble each other. See also REFERENCES.
In the early 20th century, in the US. and possibly elsewhere, 'Elisabeth' seems to have been confused in commerce with several other tree peonies; this does not mean the other varieties were actually synonymous.
