Bred by Jules Gravereaux (France, 1901).
Introduced in France by Roseraie de l'Hay in 1901 as 'Rose à Parfum de l'Hay'.
Introduced in France by Charles Pierre Marie Cochet-Cochet in 1903 as 'Rose à Parfum de l'Hay'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Carmine-red to cherry-red, lighter edges.  Strong, rose fragrance.  Average diameter 4".  Large, semi-double to double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat, globular bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, upright.  

Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).  Width: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 2b and warmer.  Hardy.
