Introduced in France by J. B. Paillet in before 1892 as 'Nigricans'.
Class:
Hybrid lactiflora.  
Bloom:
Crimson, purple shading.  Moderate, medicinal fragrance.  Medium, double, cupped bloom form.  Midseason.  
Habit:
Compact, medium, upright.  

Height: up to 32" (up to 80cm).
