"Spice". Pale pink rose, semi-double with loose petals in the centre. Small mid-green foliage on a small bush - it grows to no more than 4' (1.2m). This rose has been named "Spice" because of its strong spice scent. It has been in Bermuda a very long time and it is suspected that it might be 'Hume's Blush Tea-scented China'. Continuous. Suitable for Pots. Very fragrant. Prefers sun. Good for cutting. Availability limited. 4' x 3'. 120 x 90cm.
Book  (1980)  Page(s) 131.

Peter Harkness. Roses in Bermuda.
Of the remaining unsolved mystery roses, two appear of special interest. One is the "Spice Rose", blush, double, confused in the centre, droopy-stemmed, but blessed with the most exhilerating fragrance as if to atone for its deficiencies.
