'Spong' rose References
Book  (1972)  Page(s) 34.

Tess Allen. Cabbage and Moss Roses. 'Spong', another small shrub, grows to about three feet in height but has a spread of about six feet. The goblet-shaped flowers are larger, but not as double as those of 'Petite de Hollande' and, because of this, the yellow stamens are displayed in the heart of the pink roses. 'Spong' seems an odd name for a rose but G. S. Thomas has found that Spong was a gardener who propagated this rose in great quantities.
