Roy and Heather Rumsey, NSW.  Miniatures.
Starina will be classed with the reds although the colour is more dazzling cherry with a yellow base to the petals. The buds are most exquisitely shaped.

Dr. A. S. Thomas, Victoria.  The New Ones.
Starina. Min. (Meilland, 1965) [('Danny Robin' x 'Fire King') x 'Perla de Montserrat']. Very vivid, unfading, double, scarlet-orange flowers which are attractive at all stages. The spiral blooms open to a long-lasting full-bloom stage a little over an inch in diameter. Healthy, strong growth. One of the very best of all Miniatures.
Book  (1970)  Page(s) 152.

Mr. C. Newman, Bayswater, Western Australia. The New Ones.
Starina This attractive miniature is taller than some but nevertheless it is a wonderful addition to this class. The tiny individual flowers of a bright cherry red are produced freely on a bush of compact growth.

Starina Miniature. (Meilland) The colour is bright cherry red with gold. The flowers are very well shaped in classic Hybrid Tea fashion, and are very attractive. A most delightful small rose, and although the growth is a little tall it is nevertheless a lovely miniature. [('Dany Robin' x 'Fire King') x 'Perla de Montserrat'].....grow to about two feet tall, or it could be more if plants are left to get straggly.

p164.  Mr. D. Ross, of Bedford Park, South Australia. The New Ones.
Mr. Ross has been growing the following cultivars under trial for three years. They will be released for sale in June, 1969.
Starina has amazed me. I have not known a miniature to give so consistently perfectly formed Hybrid Tea type blooms from bud to full blown. The colour is deep coral to orange-scarlet, and is in flower continuously while for good measure it is fragrant. This must rank equal to the best in miniatures.

p164. Mr. W. G. Treloar of Portland, Victoria.  The New Ones.
Starina is, in my opinion, the best miniature yet produced; The red and vermilion flowers are well formed and the plant grows to twelve inches high.
