Notes:
It is not quite clear whether this rose was a seedling from T. Johnson in Australia, or was W. Paul's 1868 'Duke of Edinburgh'. Newspaper reports pre-date Paul's rose by one year and we have, for the moment, presumed it was Johnson's rose.
