Bred by Paul Barden (United States, 2004).
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Ruby-red, violet-red shading, cherry-red reverse.  None to mild fragrance.  Average diameter 4".  Large, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form.  
Habit:
Tall, armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  Medium, semi-glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 6' to 7' (185 to 215cm).  Width: 4' (120cm).
Growing:
Can be used for beds and borders, garden, shrub or specimen.  Vigorous.  can be grown as a shrub.  drought resistant.  heat tolerant.  prefers full sun.  rain tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .  Remove unproductive wood every third year or so.  
Breeder's notes:
This is probably a tetraploid but has not been evaluated for ploidy. It is extremely fertile as both a seed and pollen parent and is currently being heavily tested as a parent. Early results suggest that it is capable of producing a wide range of colors in its offspring, including clear yellows!
