The present invention constitutes a new and distinct variety of garden rose plant which originated from a controlled crossing between the female seed parent, an unnamed seedling, and the male pollen parent, also an unnamed seedling. Both of the parent varieties are non-patented.
The two parents were crossed during the summer of 1999 and the resulting seeds were planted in a controlled environment in Fredensborg, Denmark. The new variety, named ‘Poulht010’, originated as a single seedling from the stated cross.
Notes:
Carl NielsenPoulsen's website states that 'Carl Nielsen' received a Silver Medal at the 2011 Rome Trials. This corresponds to the rose POUlht0081. The same site states that this rose received a silver medal at the 2011 Saverne Trials. This in turn corresponds to the rose POUlth008. As there is no Poulsen series POUlth..., it seems that both 'Carl Nielsen' and 'Elaine Paige' were foreseen for POUlht008, but 'Carl Nielsen' was entered into the trials with slightly modified breeder codes. The final code with which it was marketed is POUlht010.
