Introduced in France by Jean-Pierre Vibert in before 1836 as 'Iolande Fontaine'.
Class:
Hybrid China, Cl., Hybrid Gallica.  
Bloom:
Violet, darker shading, mottling.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing.
