Climber.  
Bloom:
Cherry-red to carmine-pink, white stripes.  Moderate fragrance.  20 to 35 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Medium-large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped, open bloom form.  Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Medium, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Tall, climbing, upright, well-branched, average prickles.  Medium, glossy, dark green, holly-like foliage.  3 to 5 leaflets.  
Growing:
Can be used for beds and borders, garden, pillar or shrub.  Vigorous.  benefits from winter protection in colder climates.  can be grown as a shrub.  can be trained as a climber.

Cross made June 14 of 2021
Harvested on October 1, 2021 - 24 seeds collected
Seeds stored in Ziploc bag in dry (no moist vermiculite) and refrigerated until sown
Seed Sown on August 14, 2022, 2nd Germination observed October 19, 2022

5/22/2025: The bloom form is definitely an improvement on Fourth of July - more petals, better form, bigger.
