Origin:
Bred by Unknown (before 1822).
Class:
Unknown, Hybrid Spinosissima, Species Cross.  
Bloom:
White, pink shading, dark red flecks.  Reddish stripes on reverse [Reverse striped pink].  up to 5 petals.  Single (4-8 petals), in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Glandular sepals, long sepals, ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Short, armed with thorns / prickles.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: up to 3' (up to 90cm).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
While Prévost lists 'Rosier de Marienbourg as a synonym of R. redutea glauca, both taxa are recognised by IOPI as approved and distinct. The descriptions of Thory are diffferent.
The original publication by Thory on the new species (Rosa Redutae in 1817) defines this rose as a species cross of R. pimpinellifolia x R. spinosissima. However, in "Les Roses" of the same year, this is modified (corrected?) to R. pimpinellifolia x R. rubrifolia.
