Notes:
A three mast ship was built in 1813 in Calcutta and named Hindostan. In that same year the Royal Navy purchased this ship as a store ship and timber carrier and renamed it The Buffalo. Departed: Spithead, England on July 11th, St Helens on August 3rd, Rio de Janeiro on October 12th, 1836. Arrived: Pt Lincoln on December 24th 1836 and Holdfast Bay (now Glenelg) on December 28th 1836. Master: John Hindmarsh (Governor of the new colony of South Australia)
Conserved by descendants of the family who arrived in Glenelg in 1836. Various family branches in South Australia are consistent in saying this Hybrid Perpetual came out on The Buffalo in 1836.
Possibly 'La Reine' hybrid perpetual 1842. Apparently not 'John Hopper', 1862.
