Bred by Russell (United Kingdom, before 1832).
Introduced in Australia by F. C. Davis in 1862 as 'Queen Adelaide'.

Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Dark purple.  Velvety.  Large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  
Habit:
Medium, compact, upright.  3 to 7 leaflets.
