Bred by Herbert C. Swim (United States, 1943).
Introduced in United States by Armstrong Nursery in 1952 as 'Buccaneer'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1954 as 'Buccaneer'.
Class:
Grandiflora, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Deep yellow.  Nasturtium fragrance.  Moderate, tea fragrance.  30 to 38 petals.  Average diameter 3.25".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright.  Matte, dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: up to 4' (up to 120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
