Excellent! I like photos that show all phases of blooms. It looks like Ultimate Pleasure is happy in your yard.

Thanks again Dave, UP does beautifully for me. We had a bad spring with aphids and a very long hot summer but she really is loving fall. This rose doesn't mind any temp conditions I have and sits in full sun. At the end of the month I'll measure all the roses. This one is nearing 5' tall now:) You and Sue are responsible for my having this beauty and she needs every bit of the 6 feet I allowed her in the garden next to Irresistible:) Her blooms light up the garden, I like that she's always partly to all in bloom. I deadhead her regularly to see it so. She still is no where near the quality of what I see in your pics, maybe when she matures in another year. She's two and a half now.
Thank you for your kind words though, yours are the measuring guides I'm growing them on, LOL*

I'm flattered you feel that way. Our Ultimate Pleasure didn't look nearly as good as yours the first 4 years. UP took her sweet time getting established in Montana. Her 8th season was the best yet. I need to upload some pics this winter. It was flattened a month ago by 2 feet of heavy wet snow. A few dozen blooms managed to open after the snow melted. Hard frosts have stopped it since. I was looking at it yesterday. It seemed the 100 or so buds were mocking me. I almost cut them off, LOL. Such a great rose.

That's terrible! Great expressive photo, BTW, as if your words weren't enough. Wow. Poor UP. Still I know these roses will take a licking and keep on ticking, tough buggers they are. I'm sorry you lost your flush and your roses too early. Sounds like you had a banner crop of roses going for Oct too. I always enjoy your photos, you and Deb work so hard with these and it shows. I know you hear this over and over but your roses are awesome and if someone is wondering about a rose you grow, I just have to refer them on to your pics here:) Someone on the mini forum is asking about Herbie, way out of my zone.
I know when I lived in the mtns, zone 7 it took me triple or more the time to grow what I used to be able to in the valley. So, in the future when I'm admiring your garden I'll doubly have to remember not only did it take years to get there, but also longer years for your roses to mature. Some day would like to see some before, during and after pics of yours.
I'll look forward to seeing your new photos this winter then when you get the chance.

Any blooms in October are a bonus. We are very happy snow and cold weather held off as long as it did :) The weather this fall is what we wish for every year. Warm weather until Halloween and then sudden subzero temperature (°F) Nov 1 is tough on the roses. We were lucky enough to have a foot of snow on the roses the year that happened. The roses were still in pretty sad shape the next spring. I would be pleased if we had this weather every year. OK, 2 feet of wet snow on the trees when they still have foliage isn't on my wish list. I'm still finding broken tree limbs and cutting them down. I haven't been able to visit Gardenweb in a couple months. I don't know what they did to the site. I think my popup blocker has a stroke when I try to visit. They can ask about Herbie here and I can answer. I'm glad Deb insisted on getting him. I like that mauve rascal more every year.
