March, 2010. Crested Sweetheart has shown itself to be sterile, until a branch sported to setting seed. This is new growth exploding from the old nursery plant at Sequoia, after a hot, dry summer after all water was turned off. The plant responded to the winter rains and is shooting out growth everywhere! Notice last year's dried hips remaining on the sport's branches.
