Is the sport pollen fertile?

Paul Barden is the only person I know of to try working with the sport. Mr. Moore tried raising seeds but nothing resulted from them. Paul never stated any positive results from his efforts with it.

Hmm. I think it was along the lines that the seeds, when they germinated, gave horrific plants that did nothing but get sick. However, I am not sure anyone has ever used it as a pollen parent. Also, the cresting is heavily branched. All other crested roses seem to be simply branched with long leaflety antlers. Maybe it is worth remaking the cross on a mass scale- one day...

The seedlings were weak and disease prone, yes. Whether he tried or had any decent results from pollen or not was never stated. To remake the cross, you'd have to hope it might sport to a pollen producing type again. Paul had the only plants of the mutation. He may or may not still have it. The original plant at the old Sequoia site was bull dozed with everything else several years ago.
