They've all been like that Cass. It's one of the oddities of Stellata. Leonie Bell told me many years ago, of the theory that Stellata, Hulthemia and Minutifolia are all "ancient species", predating the others. Ironically, all three have hips which smell like valerian root, "old, dirty sneakers"! Crack them open and take a sniff...yuck!
