Upon Dr. Svejda's retirement from the Central Experimental Farm in Ottawa, her advanced seedlings were sent to L'Assomption and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu for further testing and release. N02 was the code assigned to 'Frontenac'. "Ottawa" was noted as the source of the rose and should not be confused with the cultivar 'Ottawa'.
