There's a monstrous Spray Cecile Brunner in a garden that was burnt out and abandoned after the Ash Wednesday bushfire, 30-odd years ago; no care in that time, with rainfall average about 700mm, and some drought years. Haven't been past it lately, but from memory, it's at least 7m across, and 3 or more high. The cutting I struck from it about 7 years ago is 5m x 3. CB and White CB are easier to fit in. A tall bush your friend might like is the rose sold in Aus as Princesse de Sagan (probably Professeur Ganiviat); David Ruston uses its little amaranth buds a lot in flower arrangements. I can't find a photo of an arrangement, but have a look at photo 223330 - it's the bud on the left.
