Shot for Billy, re comments about prickles. It doesn't have any, of any size, anywhere. Which is a surprise. As far as I know nobody has ever mentioned it being totally thornless.
Of course this one has only been in the ground just over a year. It may decided to sprout fangs to rival a dragonfish, just to annoy me. On the other hand it was grafted two years before leaving the nursery, so you'd think it would've made up its mind by now.
I have noticed that it does seem to like sprouting branches in odd places at right angles. You can see a few in the shot.
